Wow, it has been a while since I posted. I guess for a while I was in a carb depleted fog and was pretty much unable to do anything but try to get through my day without tearing a muscle or losing my patience so bad that I scarred my kids for life. The competition is over and although I did not place or do very well, I did the very best that I could and I am proud of myself.
I can honestly say though that through the prep process, I learned so much about what I want for myself moving forward. I want a healthy balance that includes good, clean healthy foods and an exercise plan that allows me some leeway. I want to be able to have the strength and the energy to take my kids to the playground and not feel like I am walking underwater to get there and am so tired once we are that I can’t bust out some pullups on the monkey bars or push the kids on the swings. My husband is also thrilled for me to be back to “normal” and we are looking forward to a date night tomorrow at one of those Brazilian Steakhouses (YUM!).
Speaking of having family fun, I fell in love with a summer fun chart on Pinterest that has amazing ideas for cool things to do over the summer. It is specific to the UTAH area, but I am using it as a guide to create my own fun stuff for the summer. Check it out:
Anyway, back on the fitness track, there are some things that I will probably always do that are in line with competition prep. I will probably always track and plan my food in advance of eating it. I will ALWAYS exercise – it is just part of who I am…… And yes, I will ALWAYS be looking for a bathroom because I still plan on keeping hydrated with a gallon of water a day (but I am losing the gallon jug…I just don’t need to look THAT bad-ass in the gym anymore).
I look forward to creating new goals and sharing them here with you. My first goal being – let’s make this summer as magical as possible for my kids….. Watch out…. things are going to get fun. I can feel it.
